IGF-1 LR3 is a recombinant analogue of human insulin-like growth factor 1. The LR3 modification includes an N-terminal methionine-glutamate extension and an Arg-3 substitution, reducing binding to IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs) by approximately 1000-fold compared to native IGF-1, resulting in a significantly extended half-life. Research applications include investigations into protein synthesis pathways, cell proliferation, and metabolic signalling.
